The state of mind in which you apprache study determines the results you get.

When you are learning you must establish what you are going to do with the things you learn.

Studying just to pass a test makes a person very incapable of doing anything with the subject they have studied once the exam is over. This “non-involvement” is the main barrier in actually applying materials.

In reality, there is only one reason for studying, studying for understanding, application and practice. The definition of student is “one who studies”. It is further defined as “is attentive and is a systematic observer”. A student then is one who reads in detail in order to learn and then apply. He connects what he is studying to what he will be doing.

A person can get stuck on the all importance and “everything-ness” of a subject. He becomes so nervous of terrible consequences that he will eventually have an accident. People are often educated into this attitude. It is all so important that it will kill him if he doesn’t know. This inhibits his power of chouce and ability to establish whether data is important or not. Education is usually taught by consequence, not by the fact it is a sensible thing to do.

How to establish importances in a subject

To begin with, when learning a subject just select out the unimportances. Just look at what is unimportant in that subject. At the start you may think that everthing is important, but continue to look for these unimportances and you will eventually come up with something. For example, say you are learning about driving a car. You will find the coat of paint or the colour of the seats unimportant. Continue to find something else unimportant. Keep at this, reapeating it and repeating it and eventually “allness” will start to disintegrate. You will select down to the most important controls of the car and the next thing you know he can drive a car! You will not have a craving to know anxiety and won’t be nervous at all. You are learning by de-evaluation of importance.

You wil find that a person who never selected out the importances of a subject, and who believes every datum must be memorised, you will find has a history of being punished.

There are many mind improvement programmes available, but this one I can honestly say certainly does makes changes to your life. The Insight CD is tool which helps to reduce stress, it improves sleep, and helps you to achieve deeper levels of self awareness and personal insight.

How does it work?

The program works by using something called “Binaural beats”. The way binaural beats work is that two different wavelenghts which compliment each other are played on each ear. The mind and brain realise that these two signals are different and sets about trying to integrate the wavelengths together. In this way new neural pathways are opened up between the left and right hemispheres. Deeper brainwave levels are produced as an effect. So by listening to the CD through headphones, you can:

Significantly reduce stress and anxiety

Improve your sleep and increase energy and vitality

Achieve profound states of deep meditation and relaxation

Improve mental and emotional well-being

Awaken your potential for long-term personal growth

Dramatically increase your self-awareness

Take your creativity and motivation to new levels

The Insight program has been used for those who practice self hypnosis or meditation. The relaxing meditative state produced by the CD has, according to Insight, been proven to reduce stress and anxiety, to dramatically improve the quality of your sleep, and to promote long-term improvement in mental and emotional well-being.

I have used the CD myself and have found it to be the best thing I have come across to enhance ones thinking capabilities. I seemed to get more inteligent, taking less time to learn things. The most impressive thing I discovered was that I began waking up fully refreshed quite early in the mornings – even weekends! This was quite a revelation for me. I tried the insight program the first time as I went to bed. Within 10 minutes I was asleep. I sometimes have difficulty sleeping, though not really suffering from insomnia. On the contrary, I suffered from not being able to get out of the bed in the mornings! This is why I say the insight program is THE best mind improvement tool. After the first time I listened to it I woke up at 7am full of energy! I could not believe it. And this wasn’t a “one-off”. I have not since reverted; naturally awakening between 7-8am.

The other benefits as mentioned above also manifested. This is a GREAT product! Check out the insight program yourself.

The program is also available in a 2 disc set including the Focus program. For more information visit the awakened minds website.

People have confused spirituality with a denial of material possessions, and isolating oneself from modernity. This couldn’t be further from the truth. All matter, energy, space, and time originate from the spiritual world, and you as a spiritual being. Even thought, symbols, and ideas are actually manifestations of energy and matter existing in space through time.

This does not mean that you should go out and buy the latest games console and spend the rest of your life playing it. The point is, and also with most other things, that there is a gradient scale of spirituality and materialism. A lot of spiritual practices are oriented towards a denial of the materialistic. This attempts at overcoming the physical universe by exiting out of the bottom of the scale. To exit out of the top is to be at cause over all materiality, beginning with control of the energy of thought and emotions, up through the material of the physical universe. In order to take control you are actually taking responsibility for. The more responsibility you take, the bigger you will grow. Put it this way, have you ever helped someone? Have you ever helped a person across the road? How did you feel afterwards? You would have felt very good about yourself, pleased, happy, and you would have felt rather light and airy. This is because you took responsibility, controlled, and grew because of it. Even recalling such an event you will get that feeling back. How do you feel now? It is good to validate yourself. The key is to acknowledge yourself and all that you have accomplished. Now it is time to take steps into more responsibility. Again this must be taken on a gradient scale. Start with the things you can easily take responsibility for. Then those things you have always wanted to be, the things you always wanted to do, and the things you always wanted to have. Keep plugging away at these, and always validate yourself along the way. This is the path to true spirituality.

Past, present, and future. These are the three things we are concerned with. The more your attention is fixed on the past the more unbalanced a person is. If a person is fixed deeply in the past they are psychotic. The more a person is in present time, the more their attention is on themselves, which is neurotic. The best place to have your attention is in the future. The present is driven by the future. You can control your attention. The first step is to get your attention fully out of the past. How many times have we dwelt on those past experiences? “But what if I had said that?”, “Should I have asked her/him?”, the list goes on. This is counter productive and is essentially a waste of energy. Think of all these beautiful moments of life that pass by when these things are dwelt upon.

How can you shift your attention?

There are two kinds of therapy, subjective and objective. Therapy which make you look at your past and mental image pictures are subjective. This is a higher level of therapy and should be undertaken when your attention is out of the past. That sounds strange, but think of it this way, all the time you have spent dwelling on things how come they are still unresolved? The answer is that you are missing a key element somewhere. If you spotted the real cause of upset, the problem would simply disappear.

Objective therapy involves getting your attention off the past, and into the present. They are mainly concerned with getting ones attention from oneself, out into the here and now of the physical universe. This tends to brighten ones perception as you are not focusing inward on yourself anymore.

Exerciese

In the room, Locate an object

Look at an object

Walk over to the object

Touch an object

Repeat and continue until you feel brighter

This may sound very strange and very simple. It is very simple. You may even start to think to yourself “this is stupid”. Well, that is just your mind fighting back, this is the very thing you want to become cause over! When you are fully in present time there should be no “mental chatter” or even any counter thoughts whatsoever.

No, don’t dream a little dream, dream lots of big ones! What do I mean by dream? Dreams are what separates the human race from any other creature. Dreams are what separate the unhappy apathetic people from the happy-go-lucky entrepreneurs who make it big, or don’t but who sure do enjoy the ride! If you talk to those on skid row you will find out just how bad things are now, never mind the future. “What future?” they will say. If you think that they have no dreams because of where they are, then think again. You don’t keep a man down with threats of bullets or bayonets. You keep them down by taking every last dream they had, one by one. Never lose your dreams. Dreams are your commands to the physical universe of what will be. Like attracts like. Dream about that sports car, really feel the seat under you, feel that excitement of acceleration, the wind in your hair, yeee haa! And that beautiful girl or that handsome man by your side. Lets get real creative with these dreams and create the future the way you want it!

Getting a patient to laugh is known as the earliest form of therapy. There are many aspects to laughter, but one of the main aspects has something to do with surprise. The punchline of a joke has some sort of a twist, which surprises you. Because of this unpredicted twist, it is funny. The contrary is a person who is so serious has been worked on so hard by life that the become surprised by nothing, therefore they do not laugh. The surprise aspect occurs because of predictability. The person who does not laugh has no intentions at predicting anything. A person who laughs, does.

How can this be remedied?

Have yourself imagine yourself laughing. You probably laughed out loud if you did. Good. Now imagine lots of people around you laughing. Contagious isn’t it? If it isn’t, alternate imagining yourself laughing and others laughing around you.

Now just start laughing. Good! Keep laughing. Great!

Now repeat laughing until you are satisfied that you can enjoy a good laugh without any reason whatsoever!

Laugh and laugh heartily everyday. Heard a good joke? Tell your friends or family about it. As they say, laughter is the best medicine.

Are you burdened with a challenge that you don’t think you are up to? Do you have to conduct a talk in front of lots of people? Does that work load seem so much that it is off putting? There is a simple technique you can use now.

It is sometimes easy to fall into the trap of minimizing yourself and your abilities, but this is fatal if it becomes a habit pattern.

Instead of minimizing yourself and avoiding those things that make you uneasy, turn the tables on it. When you avoid those things you actually become smaller, and more at an effect of those things you have avoided.

This is what you do. For example, if you have to talk in front of 5 people and this makes you uneasy, you picture you are talking in front of 10. You feel better about that don’t you? This is because the more you confront, the more you grow as a person, and the more able you become. If your work load is huge, imagine doubling it. Again you will feel the same way. You will get a “Gung ho” feeling and will get ready for action. This technique is applicable to anything, weather it is talking to girls, job interviews, long distance driving, anything!

There is cause and effect. You decide to be either. If a person talks to you in an angry way, you can decide to act back angrily, or you can just take in your stride. If you force yourself to smile, you’ll soon stop frowning. If you force yourself to laugh then you’ll soon find something to laugh about. If you act enthusiastically you will become enthusiastic. A person is naturally creative. You create your own feelings and emotions. So be creative!
